‘Vellicate’

Here lies my second electronic song by the name of ‘Vellicate’

Remix coming soon!

Might need to get back into gaming!

Just recently, I started playing Zelda: Windwaker again, after having stopped half-way through a few years ago. And I fell in love all over again, just the art style, cuteness and just the general Zelda vibe. However, I was also reminded why I stopped playing video games, they can be tedious and frustrating at times…

Anyway, I’m thinking that I should give gaming another chance, and I think some of these games featured in IGN’s article about a few upcoming games from Japan might just give me a push in the right direction. For example, just take a look at Ni no Kuni…wow. A game from Level 5 and Studio Ghibli (squee!) really lends to a truly amazing feel, with gorgeous graphics and trademark Ghibli art style along with turn-based combat which Japanese games seem to love. If that turns out as well as it looks, I’m sold.

On the other hand, games like Shadows of the Damned could equally bring me back into gaming, considering the people involved with it’s production. Suda51, legendary for games such as No More Heroes (which I haven’t actually played though) and some other guy who did Resident Evil 4. Similarly, the over the top nature of games such as Asura’s Wrath or the beauty and mystery of The Last Guardian might tickle my fancy. I love you Japan.

Thinking back now, the games I truly enjoyed were the likes of Zelda, Metroid, Resident Evil 4 and the mindless addiction of Super Smash Bros. (and similarly Counterstrike…), so I think these upcoming games from Japan might just suck me back into gaming!

Holidays, hopefully a good break

Today marked my freedom for the next two or so weeks, with the completion of my final exam of this term. Most people had finished last week, but my assessment schedule was spread out with week long gaps strung throughout. Essentially, I’ve already had a decent break. Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  • Cleaned room about four or five times
  • Watched anime
  • Drew a picture
  • Set my goal for university course
  • Put my soft toys around the room
  • Got a poster with fifteen penguins from IKEA and framed it
  • Framed a Totoro puzzle
  • Had band practice
  • Moved this website to where it is now

As most of my views for my blog  (almost all of them actually) which are from people I don’t know in real life are of posts about anime/technology, I’ll talk about that, since the point of a blog is to get a decent number of views! XD

I’m planning on watching Ouran High School Host Club, Vampire Knight, Phantom, Darker Than Black 2, Break Blade movies and finishing the now overly ecchi Highschool of the Dead. Ouran and Vampire Knight have been on my list for aaaaages, but I never got around to watching/finishing them yet (actually, I managed to stop Vampire Knight at episode 8 a few months back). Highschool of the Dead became a bit too ecchi for my liking, but I’ll finish it off nonetheless as there are only 3 episodes left for me. My friends have told me that Darker Than Black season 2 is pretty decent, except for the ending…which I was told to skip completely (don’t know how that’s possible :P ) . Phantom should be good.

Also, Japan’s Fall 2010 season of anime has started, with many of the series set to kick off in the coming weeks.

The list is quite big, but to me it seems many are quite mediocre. Of those 30 series, I’ll be keeping an eye on:

  • Bakuman: being the only manga I follow, I will definitely watch this. Hopefully it delivers and lives up to the manga! Remember, its BakuMAN, not BakuGAN (the childish thingy)
  • Star Driver: I’ll just be taking a look, since its by BONES (hopefully it won’t disappoint me like Heroman did)
  • The World God Only Knows: My friend is in love with the manga, and I trust his judgement!
  • Arakawa Under the Bridge S2: Enjoyed season 1 a lot, and I’m definitely up for another season of silly random comedy
  • Index s2: Only halfway through the first season, so if I finish that, I’ll probably go onto season two…if I like it enough :P
  • Miyanishi Tatsuya Gekijou: Omae Umasou da na: This isn’t on that list up there, but it looks childish enough for an adolescent teen to enjoy somewhat!
    • Synopsis: “A Tyrannosaurus called Heart was raised by a herbivorous dinosaur. As he grew up, he was scared by other dinosaurs. One day, Heart meets a baby Ankylosaurus and he names the baby “Umasou (looks delicious)”. Umasou started to be attached to Heart and a strange family love develops between the two”

Needless to say, if some of the ones I ignored completely turn out to be well received by the community, I will have to take a closer look.

Regarding buying stuff, I am considering starting up my figurine collection, which is now comprised of  just a few Gundams (Exia, Virtue from Gundam 00). Fairly soon, I will probably be the proud owner of an Azusa nendoroid (Azu-nyaaaan!!!) and Hitagi figure by GSC. Also, I’m considering the Tomoyo WAVE figure, which is now further discounted at AmiAmi…which is another $50 or so. Hmmmmmmm….deciding what to buy is so nerve-wracking! ARGH!!! I probably should be using this money to save up for something like an amplifier or another EMG pickup…

Anyway, I’m off to play some Zelda: Windwaker. I never got around to finishing that game, and thought: why not do so in my holidays!

New look for LokLokLogs approaching?

Good evening (what salutation do I give at 3:26am?!)

I am currently in the process of creating a new theme for LokLokLogs’ blog, which should be complete in the next few days. Currently, I am using the wonderful Mystique theme, available free by digitalnature which has provided me with fantastic choices and options with considerable flexibility, but I have decided to use my own starting as soon as possible. This way, I will have as much control as my skill and software allows, and hopefully a design that I find suits the site as I want it at the present moment. The new theme will probably be quite typical, like most simplistic-type blogs these days…but it works well! I probably won’t be able to have some features that were available in professionally made themes such as Mystique, but I hope that will motivate me to learn and move forward. Secondly, I plan on moving the blog to http://lokloklogs.com/ after thinking that I won’t really need anything else on my site besides this blog which is the main focus.

And yes, tests are almost over for me, just one left! I’ll be free!!! …for awhile.

Wow, it’s getting late here so I better get a move on. Hopefully Gochisou-deshita and myself will have something well under way over the next few weeks!

Bye bye!

REEL Anime

REEL Anime film festival (update x2)

********KING OF THORN UPDATED NOW TOOO! ONLY SUMMER WARS TO GO!!

Just earlier this month, our REEL anime film festival begun in theatres around Australia and New Zealand. I was largely quite impressed with the selection brought down to us deprived otakus here in Australia. After a quick look and talk, several of my friends along with myself decided to watch a few of these…

Read on for my opinions on Evangelion 2.0, Redline, King of Thorn and Summer Wars!

Evangelion 2.0

Without a doubt, everybody has heard of this film remake quadrilogy of the all-time fan favourite series Neon Genesis Evangelion. Personally, I found the film Evangelion 1 quite disappointing. I had not seen the original series, but I’m sure fans of that would have enjoyed the first movie a lot more than myself. I found it rather slow and boring, mainly because I rented the DVD at Blockbuster based on the assumption that it would be a fast paced film full of killing stuff. The second reason I was disappointed was the sheer amount of whinging from the lead character, Shinji. How angsty can you get?

Thankfully, Evangelion 2.0 exceeded any expectations I could have developed based on the first film and actually becomes one of my favourite anime. Heck, I can even say……
